Wow, congratulations. The addition of new family members is always special. I have a nephew that is adopted. I wish I had great tips for you but I am a newish parent and still trying to figure it all out still myself. Best of luck.
ReplyDeleteStart reading early in your baby's life. Let them touch the book and see the illustrations. As they get older, bring in books for teaching them early reading.
ReplyDeleteA good site to get help for how to bring your child along in reading is www.ReadingRockets.org.
There are games you can play traveling in the car or around the home that teach preshcoolers to read. Don't miss out on your chance to help your little one get a head start for school!
Summer vacation is almost over and the kids will be heading back to school soon. How exciting! Another year for them to learn, to grow, to meet new friends.......and to bring home the dreaded fundraiser packets. You know, the ones that we Moms and Dads take to work with the hopes that our co-workers will take pity on us and buy the popcorn, cookie dough, or Christmas wrapping paper that we've got to sell for our kid's band club, soccer team, cheerleader squad, football team, debate club?? I'm so sick and tired of the same old fundraiser ideas, year in and year out.....I can't do another carwash fundraiser. My skin still hasn't recovered from the 5 I did last year!!
ReplyDeleteWith those not-so-fond memories of past fundraisers in mind, I met recently with the Principal of one of our local high schools to present a NEW fundraiser idea, the Custom Design Key Finder, a key finder custom designed with the school logo. What a cool little gadget!! You hook your keys up to the key finder and then slip it over your purse or over your pants pocket and BLAM!! No more digging through your purse, jacket, or pants pocket ever again hunting in vain for your keys! It's a non-gender specific product, great for both guys and gals, and it's a product that can be custom made and sold for a very reasonable price.......very appealing to us parents having to buy fundraiser items!
If you are involved in school fundraisers forget washing cars, baking cakes and cookies, or keeping masses of tubs of cookie dough cold until parents get around to picking them up.....contact JenChe' Pursehooks & Accessories for details on a Custom Design Key Finder!
