In The Mood For Safari? We have a Tip to Experience it in Florida

Lions and zebras on the loose in South Florida????

Nothing like going on Safari!  or at least the closest to that without actually going to Africa.
If you are ready for the local Safari,  our Cool Tips is Lion Country Safari, a drive through themed park is ticket to fun and adventure!
Located in Loxahatchee , Florida, near West Palm Beach, this is truly up close and personal!  The first part of the  park is a drive in zoo.  At the gates you receive a CD which accompanies chapter after chapter through the entire drive talking to you about the animals you see in each section.  Chimps, wild beast, ostriches, rhinos, and more  were in our route and sometimes in our path!  Keep in mind there are over 900 animals to see here.

Once the drive is done, there is still lots to do.  Pontoon boats, paddle boats, carousel and mini golf!
Get ready for more action.

You can enjoy amusement rides, or the animal presentation, get even closer to the animals at the petting zoo or the aviary where you can feed nectar to the beautiful birds.
Our favorite encounter was feeding the amazing and gentle giraffes.
What and experience!

Their big lashes were just batting in our face at the  high gazebo where they come up to see if anyone has a special snack for them.   I can still hear the kids excited and nervous screams as the giraffes licked their hands getting their snacks.  Truly unforgettable.

So was the camel ride, and admiring the enormous alligator basking in the sun.

When it gets too hot, then its time to enjoy the super fun water park.  When we discovered this part, we were sure no one would get us out of there ever!  Lucky for the park it started to rain and we were able to get the kids out. :-)

While we didn't see it, there is a Lion Country Safari KOA campground.  Now, that would really take anyone to the African bush as you will be sleeping yards away from the animals.  From what we were told you can hear the animals all day.  Imagine hearing that big lion roar at the wee hours of the morning!  Wow!
It was a full day of fun, amazement and education that made for an experience embedded in sweet memories.

It was a great experience that was fun and educational at the same time. We can't wait to get to tour own jungle again soon. Little one is asking for his birthday party to be held there.  The park offers services, so we might just do that.
