The Orphaned Earring & Girl Scouts Partnership #4LoveOfLife

Every step towards helping others makes a difference regardless of how big or small.
Taking that step can mean the world to someone else.
We believe finding ways to help others should start early on.  This is why we say that it’s important to teach children at a young age the importance of doing good, paying it forward and sometimes even putting others before themselves. It shapes them to be responsible, caring and compassionate human beings, and they will lead the world.

We are happy to report that  The Orphaned Earring has teamed up with the Culver City Girls Scouts, inspiring each girl to make a difference.
Before we share mor, do you know about The Orphaned Earring?  We love their cruzade! So first. things first, a little on The Orphaned Earring, from their site:
We are a non-profit blog dedicated to bringing arts and crafts, school supplies as well as year-round festivities to four orphanages in Latin America, Nicaragua,Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico. As we help the orphanages we’ve come across the surrounding communities’ greater needs and now committed to helping them too. Such is the case in Guatemala where we help an indigenous community by providing oatmeal and other nutritional grains to the families with children to prevent continued starvation in their community.
By collecting orphaned earrings and unwanted jewelry, we re-purposes, recycle and up-cycle the materials by creating bracelets to sell. One-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit not only the orphanages and their surrounding communities but it creates a win-win situation for everyone: we feel good by doing good, we love earth by recycling and we show love to orphaned children.
Amazing how so little can mean so much!  Go Orphaned Earring, Go!!!

So back to The Orphaned Earring and the Girl Scouts, the idea is that during Girl Scout cookie season, the Culver City Girl Scouts will be working hard to earn their Girl Scout Bronze award, a leadership adventure and the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve. The troop plans and complete a project where they will develop more confidence, meet new people, and have the kind of fun that happens when they work with other Girl Scouts and their community and together BE the difference.

For their Bronze Award project, the Culver City Troop has joined our #4LoveOfLife program conducted every year during the month of February to celebrate LOVE. The girls will make and sell bracelets to provide 90 orphan girls in Guatemala a school uniform, school supplies and cover other immediate needs.

Let’s give the Girl Scout Junior Troop 5635 in Culver City a shout-out for the amazing and selfless work they’re doing and celebrate how new generations are learning to DO GOOD!

Doing good by our readers in an indulgent way, we have 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies PLUS 2 The Orphaned Earring bracelets!
