For our year of Celebrations, of course we had to give a cheer out to an amazing summer, and wish the stars and the moon to new school year. So, when BoneFish Grill invited us to say #HelloNewMenu and try it out, a party of sorts came to life.
Finally I had gotten my Back To School in order, which really added to the "things to celebrate pile". I could sit back and be catered to while enjoying my family, smiling at our memories and talking about the high-fives to come.
It was very easy to say yes to BoneFish Grill. From previous visits, it has become one of our favorite restaurants not only for the food and service, but also because our picky eaters do love fish. What mom can argue against BoneFish Grill under these any circumstances?
Last night we sat down to an amazing dinner, with the superb service we always get at BoneFish Grill. It was just perfect because we spent a lot of time at the beach this summer, so the new BoneFish Grill menu got us talking about our adventures and Sea Creatures. It was a long conversation because there are so many new items to try out! Of course it also took us a while to decide what we were going to taste on this visit.
To start out I wanted to try the Cold Snap Shrimp Ceviche (chilled bay scallops, shrimp, fresh fish, vegetables, avocado, cucumber, jalapeno, citrus, cilantro + warm tortilla chips) but was outnumbered. Instead, we keep our loyalties and ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp we love plus the New Bang Bang Shrimp Flatbread. The flatbread disappeared in a flash! I didn't get a chance to take a photo of it, so our waiter went back and took a photo of it so you can enjoy with us our entire meal
Next up, we talked crustaceans and remembered our lobster rolls during our visit up North, so to honor the memories I went with the Lobster Grilled Cheese made with North Atlantic lobster chunks, cheddar cheese, and smoked mozzarella. I made new memories savoring this fabulous mix of flavors! I was in heaven. I don't think I have to add anything else to tell you how superb the sandwich is, except that it is served with a generous bowl of lobster bisque and fresh greens
We all reached out our forks into hubs dish: Shrimp Pad Thai. The bowl was delicious. It really had the authentic traditional Thai sauce and plenty of shrimp among the rice noodles, eggs and peanut bits. I like my food on the spicy side, so without hesitation our waiter brought to the table some Sriracha sauce. Just perfect! Aiming to please at this restaurant, I say.
During the summer I tried (and failed) to prepare crab salad. We were always late to our fish market and crabs were out when we came to but they. Not to end the summer without any crab tasting, we also shared the new Crab Fried Rice. It is a side dish, but the kids voted it should be declared a formal dish on its own right.
Our best summer memories definitively were from our fishing trip: many laughs, many hours asking where the fish were, and a good meal at the end of the day. So the kids all ordered the Tilapia from the children's menu. I was very proud when the youngest ordered broccoli with it!
After an hour and a half of very good eating, trying and discovering we were more than satisfied.
Basically our dinner was all around new menu items, and we didn't scratch the surface of it. I really want to go back for the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad, and I know hubby is going for turf next time - Rib-Eye steak.
No room for dessert last night, but definitively NEED to try the Macadamia Nut Brownie
(flourless brownie, raspberry sauce, vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with macadamia nuts) and the kids want to try the S'mores Flatbread.
We toasted to BoneFish Grill's great new menu items, and raised our glasses to the new academic adventure! 2014 - 2015 here we come!!!
We couldn't have picked a better place for our end of summer celebration and to send off our back to school on a high note. A++ BoneFish Grill! Thank you.
